Charity Sharity, Girl Scout Troup 2534 and Ozark Berry Farm receives “Green Team” award from Environment Committee

At the February 18 City Council meeting, the Chesterfield Citizens Committee for the Environment presented Charity Sharity, Girl Scout Troop 2534 and Ozark Berry Farm with “Green Team” awards. Recipients of the "Green Team" emblem from the Chesterfield Citizens Committee for the Environment are distinguished in their outstanding or innovative environmental efforts. They have educated and facilitated change by encouraging the reduction, reuse or recycling of solid waste materials destined for landfills; and/or helped enhance native/natural world conservation. 

Charity Sharity was presented with a “Green Team” award for their outstanding or innovating environmental efforts in the collection and reuse of fabric and sewing notions, and distributing them to over 180 service organizations in the region for reuse.  Their efforts help make the comfort bears and blankets that are provided to families in stressful situations locally through Chesterfield Citizens Committee for the Environment members and ultimately, around the world.  Charity Sharity is the 56th recipient of this award.

Members of Girl Scout Troop 2534 were chosen for distinction in their outstanding or innovative environmental efforts, including planting and maintaining the 25th Anniversary Butterfly Garden in Eberwein Park and volunteering at numerous recycling and planting events in the City.  Girl Scout Troop 2534 is the 57th recipient of this award. 

Lil Collins of Ozark Berry Farm accepted the “Green Team” award for her outstanding or innovative environmental efforts with native plants, including donating several milkweed plants that have been given away at Earth Day events.  Ozark Berry Farm is the 58th recipient of this award.
