The funds will be used to for the "Repairing the Riparian" event at the new Eberwein Park in Chesterfield on October 15. During this community conservation opportunity, participants will install native plants along a natural trail system that will help qualify the park for inclusion in Chesterfield's Community Habitat Certification with the National Wildlife Federation.

Children are encouraged to attend and will receive Frisbees, hula hoops, kites and pinwheels to encourage playing outside, all of which will be funded by the grant. A nutritional picnic lunch will be provided for all those participating in the planting. Partners in this community grant are: Ameren Missouri/Pure Power, Boy Scouts of America, Dierbergs Market Place, Home Depot, PNC Bank - Chesterfield, St. Louis Community College - Wildwood; and Remains, Inc.

Additionally CCE members will be on hand with information about the environment, including Chesterfield's Stellar Green Youth Team program, while staff from Chesterfield Parks & Recreation department will be available to answer questions about Eberwein Park and other parks in the system.
