Missouri River is well below flood stage

The Missouri River is well below flood stage and there are no current flooding concerns for Chesterfield Valley.  News Reports of flooding along the Mississippi River upstream of St. Louis does not suggest that there are any flooding concerns for Chesterfield Valley or the Missouri River.  While the Missouri River drains into the Mississippi, they are two completely different watersheds.Current and projected levels for the Missouri River indicates that river stages will remain below flood stage.  The river is expected to crest later this week, but cresting at levels well below flood stage.  The Department of Public Services regularly monitors conditions on the Missouri River and responds accordingly.  This notice is being sent simply to avoid any concern from persons watching the news and hearing about sandbagging efforts in North St. Charles County or Clarksville.  AGAIN, the Missouri River is, and is projected to crest well below flood stage.  We have absolutely NO flooding concerns and have not implemented any precautionary actions.  The Missouri River is in excellent condition.
