On Saturday July 25th, 2015,the Chief of the Chesterfield Police Department appeared before the CALEA Commission Review Committee in Colorado Springs, CO.  The purpose of the meeting was to demonstrate and confirm the police department’s continued compliance with all applicable CALEA standards and best practices, and was the final step in the police department’s efforts toward attainment of our 4th CALEA re-accreditation award in addition to the initial award which was presented in 2003.

The CALEA Review Committee Commissioners commented on Chesterfield’s “outstanding and third consecutive perfect, on-site assessment” and publicly expressed their appreciation of CPD’s commitment to the CALEA process.   Additionally, at the awards ceremony that evening the Agency was officially awarded their 4th consecutive CALEA Re-Accreditation certification, with CALEA’s Award of Excellence!  The Award of Excellence is reserved only for the top agencies meeting the highest standards set forth by the CALEA organization.
The Chesterfield Police Department was among the first agencies to be accredited in the St. Louis area, and stands out as a leader among accredited agencies to include the Chief of Police having been selected as a Commissioner to serve on the Commission for Accreditation, a position which he still maintains.
