Customer Service Options for Republic Services

Many industries are facing staffing challenges, and the recycling and waste disposal industry is no different.  We recognize the frustration in reaching out to our Customer Resource Center (CRC) when there are extenuating hold times, well above our desired limits.  Mid-year in 2020 all our call centers were disbanded, for COVID/safety concerns, and our CRC representative positions moved to an in-home office setting.  As with so many businesses in the service industry, we have experienced some staffing challenges.  We are addressing these challenges head on, and have recently hired 100 new CRC representatives, 25 of those located in the St. Louis market.  As their multi-week training is completed and they begin going “live” on the phones, we expect a marked reduction in hold times.  We will continue to hire and even plan to over-hire in this area, so we can better meet customer’s needs and expectations.

Of the Top Ten jobs employers are having difficulty filling, mechanics and truck drivers are number one and two, respectively.   Republic Services has been actively advertising and posting our jobs available via social media, banners, recruiters, and websites.  Again, we are active in our local market to attract top talent and our St. Louis office is hosting a Job Fair this Saturday, August 14th (outdoor at our Bridgeton office) specifically for these two positions.
