Maura
"Maura" is a beautiful bronze sculpture created by Don Wiegand that depicts a young girl running with her shadow behind her. Every year on June 26 at 10:00 am, her actual shadow meets her sculpted shadow in an amazing demonstration of nature and art. She can be admired in Chesterfield’s Central Park near the entrance of the Family Aquatic Center.
"Maura" was dedicated on June 26, 1999 in honor of Chesterfield’s 10th anniversary and was brought into the community through generous donations received from Chesterfield businesses and residents.
